Tiffany Club of New England Proudly Presents First Event with Author Helen Boyd as its Keynote Speaker
Now in its 27th year First Event is New England’s largest transgender event
[Waltham, MA, November 22, 2006] Tiffany Club of New England announces that it will be holding its 27th annual First Event program on January 17-21, 2007 at the Boston Burlington Marriott, in Burlington, Massachusetts. The theme for this year’s event will be “Building Bridges” and will feature Helen Boyd as the keynote speaker. Helen is the nationally acclaimed author of My Husband Betty, and She’s Not the Man I Married: My Life with a Transgender Husband, to be released in March 2007.
Featuring over 65 different seminars, 10 special fun events and numerous opportunities to network, First Event provides the entire transgender community with exciting and meaningful opportunities to learn and have fun.
“It is very gratifying to know that we have been helping people for 27 years”, said Sarah Thompson, Tiffany Club of New England President, “Every year we adapt the theme and the workshops to keep up with the needs of our community. This year our Building Bridges theme is aimed at helping the transgender community build strong bonds internally and externally”.
“We are thrilled to have Helen Boyd be our keynote speaker”, Sarah continued, “Helen’s accepting attitude, unique style and perspective as a spouse makes her a natural choice for this year’s theme”.
“I consider it an honor to have been asked by Tiffany Club to be the keynote speaker at First Event”, said Helen Boyd, “Being one of the largest and most well known transgender events in the country, First Event is a wonderful forum to help unify our community”.
