Dayna Walker

Dayna Walker is a retired Army First Sergeant (Promotable). Raised in LaPorte, Indiana, Dayna enlisted as a Military Police Officer following graduation from high school. Dayna brings over 25 years of military service experience where she served in various capacities as a Military Police Officer and within the United States Army Recruiting Command.

Dayna most recently worked for Humana Military’s Veterans Initiative as a Regional Sales Manager which encompassed Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. In her role with Humana Military, daynaDayna developed positive relations with Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), Community Leaders and Organizations as well as identifying pathways to other military veterans and their families.

Prior to joining Humana, Dayna was a Market Intelligence Officer (S-2) with the United States Army Recruiting Command. She was instrumental in developing senior leadership in conducting market assessments, building community awareness programs and performing as the key liaison with government officials, community leaders and Veteran Service Organizations. Dayna served as a Public Affairs Officer, also with the United States Army Recruiting Command.

Dayna’s military assignments include: Squad Leader/Patrol Supervisor, Military Police Platoon, 2nd Armored Division (Forward), Garlstedt Germany; Special Reaction Team Leader, Law Enforcement Activity, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana; Traffic Section Leader, Provost Marshal’s Office, Ft. Clayton, Republic of Panama; Recruiter, Seminole (Florida) Recruiting Station, Tampa Army Recruiting Battalion; Station Commander, Plant City (Florida) Recruiting Station, Tampa Army Recruiting Battalion; Station Commander, Tampa North (Florida) Recruiting Station, Tampa Army Recruiting Battalion; Senior Guidance Counselor, Tampa Military Entrance Processing Station, Tampa, Florida; First Sergeant, Peachtree City Army Recruiting Company, Peachtree City, Georgia and Acting Command Sergeant Major, Atlanta Army Recruiting Battalion.

Dayna holds an MBA from Liberty University and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Troy University where she is a member of the Chi Sigma Iota Honors Society. Additionally, Dayna graduated Cum Laude from Columbia Southern University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.

Dayna’s military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC) and Humanitarian Service Medal. She is a Gold Badge Recruiter with three Sapphires and has been awarded both the Glenn E Morrell Order of Excellence and Recruiting Ring for her excellence in recruiting. Additionally, Dayna has been recognized as the Distinguished Honor Graduate of four professional military leadership schools.

Dayna is an active member of the Association of the United States Army, American Counseling Association, Disabled American Veterans, American Snipers Organization, World Professional Association for Transgender Health, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, among others. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for Empowering Spirits Foundation and is a Founding Advisory Council member California Military Children’s Education Council. Dayna lives with her partner, Michelle, in Stockbridge, Georgia with their daughter Rylee. Her son, Brandon, currently serves as a Geo-Spatial Intelligence Officer in the United States Air Force.
